BOY FOUND IN THE CAVE IN INDONESIA, WAS THE ONLY ONE SPEAKING ENGLISH WITH THE DIVERS

Adul Samon, was born in Wa, as is known the region inhabited by the people who occupy a part of Myanmar and China. Due to a conflict in the region that lasted more than a decade, Samon's parents managed to send the 7-year-old boy to study in northern Thailand, where he was welcomed by a couple of teachers who are members of a Christian church. Adul Samon is one of 400,000 people registered as stateless in Thailand, according to data from the United Nations Agency for Refugees.

Without a birth certificate, identity card or passport number, Samon can not get married, get a job, have a bank account, travel or vote. In spite of his irregular situation in Thailand, Samon was the one who initiated the communication between the divers and the people present. This shows the potential that a knowledgeable refugee can bring to an adverse situation, in which this case he saved lives by reassuring their colleagues.
